Not done a Friday post for a while, largely because she's pretty independent. She'll come and yell at you if she's hungry or wants a fuss but she's nowhere near as clingy as she used to be. Still loves to try and slit your wrists, and she's the embodiment of that "stroke stroke kill" cat meme/comic.

It doesn't help that Forest is perpetually very excited to see her. Will try to introduce them a little more when their energy is more matched. He's not aggressive, just very interested and that is absolutely not Friday's vibe.

Forest is now 17 weeks and he's settling in quite nicely. House training is going pretty well and we're not having to be constantly poised to leap out the back door at any given moment. He's done well with that.

He's very bitey and chewy, which will hopefully reduce as he loses his puppy teeth. He's also absolutely useless on the lead which is odd. He's so easily distracted, wants to stop and sniff everything, and will not pee with the lead on, which is weird/annoying. I read a thing a while back about taking dogs out on sniff walks being good for them getting accustomed to their surroundings so we've been doing that. It's strange, and quite boring.

I have felt quite guilty about replacing Sudo, which I know is some crazy projection but there you go. As someone who cried at Aladdin (when I was about eight), when Jasmine leaves the castle and leaves Rajah behind, I am no stranger to projected hyper-emotion. It's definitely improving but I've felt horribly guilty for the first couple of weeks of Forest being here.
