A Wholesome Evening

20/08/2024

Armed with a couple of containers and a camera (I have no desire to pick or eat blackberries but I'll take some pictures, sure!) we went for a walk on our usual route to find some blackberries. There was actually loads - we usually get beaten to them.

When we got to the local farm (it has a public footpath), the farmer who delivers our eggs drove past and saw that we were picking and told us about a great hedge near his poly-tunnels. Asked if we wanted to hop onto his pickup and we'd drive there. Weirdly I think this was a dream come true for Tabitha. It was pretty fun, to be fair.

After a very long time picking (and me wandering around taking silly pictures of broken beehives and old ploughing machinery), we walked back to our route and towards home, where a lovely little cat came over for a fuss. In retrospect we shouldn't have done this as he then followed us for a while and I was concerned, but I maintain that you should always pet the cat.

Lovely evening, 10/10.
