Halide Process Zero

08/29/2024

I found this via Chris Glass (where I find an above-average amount of my good stuff), and was pretty skeptical but it's very nice.

Halide is a camera app for iOS that is aimed squarely at people who care more about telling you about their camera than they do showing you their pictures. However, the app itself is decent (aside from the subscription. I will never be OK with subscriptions. They do have a lifetime tier, though, I think) and they just added this new option called Process Zero, that bypasses all of the iPhone's computational photography and just gives you 12MP RAWs.

They look surprisingly nice, and Lightroom loves them. It's actually made me use my phone to take some pictures. Only four, but it's a start!
