I am very drawn to the Windows XP desktop photo as a composition. Genuinely probably because I spent so long looking at it as a kid. I probably never changed from the default either. I'm very boring with desktops now - solid colours only. I get sick of, or distracted by, photos so I can't have them.

We watched this video of an American guy making Chicken Ruby from the Dishoom book, and it looked so good that Charlotte made it today, but with paneer. It was phenomenal. Their recipe for basmati rice made the best rice I've ever had. It takes ages but it's so worth it (easy to say when you didn't do the work).

The reason I mention he's American is he was flummoxed by a couple of Anglicisms that amused me: the word "catch" meaning to burn on the base of a pan, and the extremely irritating grill/broil/fry mess between the two versions of English we use, causing him to cook his chicken wrong.
