Tabitha's Chris Riddell Portrait
10/12/2024

Chris Riddell drew these 15 minute portraits for a charity in Brighton and it was such a sweet experience. He and Tabitha chatted about books and art and how he prefers drawing to writing.
I was wearing my Simpsons jumper and he told us about how he met Matt Groening at a party in 1987 just before the Simpsons first aired on Tracey Ullman which is a pretty cool story!
The conversation got me thinking about how you read songs in books. I used to be so rubbish at this when I read bedtime stories to Tabitha. If there's a song in a story but it's written for that story and so there's no tune, how do you read that? It's impossible.
