Selfie

This was a mission to set up. I hate photos of myself but I'm really trying to be less bothered by my opinion of my face. It's not working all that well.

I'm on a social-media-is-poison trip at the moment. I feel like its net contribution to humanity is negative, even though I've met some of my favourite people through it. I love the validation I get from posting something that gets a lot of attention, but I hate how that isn't a measure of its actual quality. So why bother? When it either feels like I'm shouting into the void, or a fluke of some schmuck's algorithm, I might as well just write here, where I know no-one reads.

But at least it's mine.
