Friday
I said I wasn't going to post more Friday posts, then did two in a row. Self motivation is a strange thing.
If someone is standing in a supermarket, avoidably blocking an aisle just because they're totally unaware of their size and surroundings, you should be legally allowed to flick their ear. Not to harm them; just a quick reminder that there are other people on the planet.
The Weekend
Went to Andy and Alanna's wedding. Ate lots of nice food. Dressed like a fancy boy. Went for a long walk. Ate more nice food.
Friday
I brushed Friday this week and now she can stand to be in the same room as me. She actually follows me around and sits on the toilet whilst I brush my teeth.
There's a girl in Tabitha's school called Jasper, and every morning I see her on her way in and she says "morning Jasper" and I say "morning Jasper", and I don't know why but I really like that part of my day.
Friday is turning into a proper cat and, as such, she isn't really interested in being near people unless it's by accident. I don't even have any recent pictures of her to share and I haven't for a little while. This little crossover period from cute kitten to grumpy cat where you have a cute, grumpy kitten is weird. Grumpy cute faces are just as believable on kittens as they are on toddlers.
I know I'm literally the last person to start using it but I have become obsessed with Midjourney. I'm having so much fun thinking of prompts.
Bluebell Railway
When I was a kid I loved steam trains. I think that's a fairly common thing. I've wanted to visit this railway for ages.
Walk to Peacehaven
Went for a long walk to Peacehaven and the "Mr Bean Stairs" as they're known in this house.
Friday Saturday
Didn't do a post last week as I was away and also didn't take any cat pictures. We now have a big cardboard castle in the kitchen for some reason.
ArcTanGent 2022
I soloed ArcTanGent this year. It was a very different experience to previous years but it's definitely something I'd do again.
Andy Weir is sci-fi's Dan Brown. Project Hail Mary is a sci-fi page-turner, just as The Martian is, just as The DaVinci Code is, just as Angels and Demons is.
Me, 3 weeks ago: hmmm it'd sure be nice if it rained.
The world, 3 weeks later, the day before ArcTanGent: sorry, just getting round to this - you wanted rain?
Me, who will be camping tomorrow: no!
I really want to wear jumpers again. I don't like summer at the best of times but this just feels silly.
Friday!
Friday is not enjoying the heat. Spends most of the day trying to find a cold surface to lie on; there isn't one, sorry.
People who've read The Martian: oh the book is so good there's loads of maths in it and it's super realistic
Me: ...sounds great. Fiction with extra maths!
Me, having read The Martian: oh the book is so good there's loads of maths in it and it's super realistic
I started going to a new badminton group occasionally and they're all so nice and friendly it's ridiculous. I was so worried about going, because apparently Adult Me worries about things like that, but they've been so welcoming, and complimentary about my game. Such a good way to end a long week.
Week off
Have run the emotional gauntlet this week. I would prefer better control of my emotions I think.
