Tandy Family Dorset Road Trip: Day 2

17/04/2019

Part 1: Bournemouth

They call these paths from the upper road to the sea road "zig-zags", though I'm not really sure why.

This is the first person I've asked for a photo in absolutely ages, but this guy looked so happy and sharp sitting in front of these beach huts in his suit, I knew it would look posed either way. So glad I did; I love this picture.

This guy was shovelling sand from the road to a wheelbarrow to the beach.

Tabitha played crazy golf for the first time. I feel like I won, but Charlotte is surprisingly good

There are so many buildings trapped in time like this.

Tomorrow we're planning to go to Brownsea Island to see red squirrels. None of these basic grey squirrels any more.

Part 2: Poole

We drove past this island with no road leading to it. I really wanted to see what was on it, so I walked to where I could safely launch the drone and have a nose about from the sky. Turns out that there might not be a road there because it's just trees. Still, you don't know until you know!

These guys were drinking Stella and fishing, and from this angle it looked like the one guy caught the other, and it made me happy.

There are quite a few wrecked boats like this in the bay. They look pretty cool from the sky.

Today we travelled from Bournemouth to Poole. Had a swim before breakfast and the pool was absolutely empty, which was nice. I really need to make a habit out of swimming. It's somehow simultaneously relaxing and exhausting.

We then pootled into Bournemouth, played some minigolf and had a look around before driving to Poole. Pretty uneventful day; had some lunch, walked to do some exploration with the drone, walked back, going to watch a movie and go to bed.

Tomorrow's the day: Brownsea Island, ferry, red squirrels. Can't wait. I can't even convince Charlotte to get on a ferry for a garlic festival - thought it'd never happen!
