Yesterday I was lucky to acquire one of my dream lenses. I've wanted a 70-200mm f2.8 since I used Nikon but I could never justify it. I found a reasonably-priced used Canon 70-200mm f2.8 II IS USM and all the other letters. I have never used a zoom over 105mm, and I'm most comfortable between 24mm and 50mm so this is a big change for me.
I walked around with it on my camera today and it's a big thing to carry. Very big. Kept knocking it on stuff. But it's so fast, and so sharp, and it gets you just close enough that you can shoot stuff that you'd otherwise spook. Especially with a setup of this size!
These photos are more just snaps to use the lens and get used to where to stand. It's quite a change from looking at the world at 24mm!
