Getting back into guitar

Not really sure why but after 10+ years off I want to play guitar again. I have never been a good guitarist; that's a lot of effort. I don't even really know what I want to play, or what I want to achieve. I just want to mess around at the moment.

This morning I have been doing some scales. My piano teacher used to say if you can't think of something to play, there's always scales. The musical equivalent of "if there's time to lean, there's time to clean", which my manager at Subway used to say constantly.

My life has been full of people doing this kind of thing to me.
