Bonding

Every once in a while, my relationship with Tabitha takes something of a developmental leap and I feel so much closer to her.

She's grown a great deal in the last few months, and gone from speaking short sentences to holding and perpetuating conversations. I now understand why toddlers ask "why?" all the time - she's been teaching herself to respond to conversational cues. It's an elegant approach and incredibly effective, even though it feels heavy handed and annoying at the time. I'm grateful that we've never snapped or become frustrated with her - even if we've come close!

She seems like a small person now, rather than a toddler. I feel so overwhelmed with pride and happiness; this is one of my favourite parts of parenting.
