Friday Feeling
Pretty eventful week for a tiny cat. She loves to be the centre of attention, even when she's asleep.
Breakfast
The ratio of prepare-time to eating-time makes cooking a totally unappealing task for me. But it does make me incredibly grateful that Charlotte enjoys it!
Today I'm feeling sorry for myself. That means comfort food (Skittles, crisps, cheese, hot sauce), comfort drinks (vodka, Pepsi Max, apple juice; not as a cocktail), comfort movies (Howl's Moving Castle, Donnie Darko, Chef), comfort activities (sorting my cable pouch, writing my journal, noisy music, OP-1, window shopping).
The problem with feeling sorry for yourself, and knowing what makes you feel better, is that it can become an excuse to over-indulge on a bad mood instead of confronting the reasons for it. That's where my journal comes in handy.
This Friday
Continuing to settle in nicely. Totally OK with the dog now, so this week we'll be moving on to leaving her for short periods.

Friday Week
We've had a week with this lovely little cat, and she's settling in beautifully.
TW: Spiders. I mean it, if you don't like spiders, or invasive spider imagery (and I know there's at least one of you Aegir), skip this.
For the last week-and-a-half, I have had a constant crackling in my right ear. You know that sound where you pour milk into a puffed rice cereal? I have been able to hear that sound for over one week. Headphones, background noise; irrelevant. I can hear it above everything.
Last night, I woke up at around 3am because I had a dream, that I had a dream, and woke up with a huge spider's nest in my ear. I may never sleep again. So very many spiders.
I feel like I'm losing my mind. The doctor is obviously not worried because it's taken nearly two weeks to get an appointment but I swear I will never eat Rice Krispies again, and I will kill every spider I ever see.
If this is a new type of tinnitus (yes I Googled my symptoms. Sue me) I don't know what I'm going to do.
I didn't realise how much I'd missed having a cat in the house until we had a cat back in the house. It just feels right to live with a cat again.
Slow sunrise
I love these slow sunrises, where the light gradually peels up over the cliffs from behind. I feel like there's a better way to capture it, but this is the best I could do from like 30 attempts and I didn't want to end up getting sick of it.
Friday
After many attempts to convince me, we got a kitten. Her name is Friday, and she is a Ragdoll. She is very sweet and settling in quite nicely. 100% not sure what to make of Sudo but she'll get there!
I've just seen a car with a vent clip for McDonald's sauces and I haven't been so disappointed by something I definitely want to own since I discovered Lynx makes a car air freshener.
All to myself
I wouldn't say I'm a selfish person, but I do enjoy having all this to myself on occasion.

Gran Turismo 7
The best parts of this game are the photo mode and car customisation. The worst part is American cars. I wonder why American manufacturers don't connect the steering wheel to the front wheels. I know they have long straight roads there but there are some corners.

This is essentially an LP Corne version of my Skeletyl, and I am very into it but I still haven't found Kailh Choc switches that I like.
We've been watching loads of gameshows this week. The Airbnb we stayed at didn't have great internet and I had dreadful reception on my phone. We've been into: Tipping Point (I don't know why I love this; it's so stupid), The Chase, and Pointless, but the winner by a wide margin has been Richard Osman's House of Games. There are so many fun games, and the Answer Smash round is something I do in my head all the time anyway.
Why do I feel like this ends with me making a fool of myself on some daytime TV quiz show?
