Scone!

04/14/2020

I haven't done any baking in a shameful amount of time. I am dreadful at parallel tasks, and obviously baking is all parallel tasks.

Need for Speed Heat

04/13/2020

Me: If I can get an RX-7 in this game I'm going to leave it completely stock.

Also me:

"It's hard to find the words to express my debt"

04/13/2020

Tories are great at creating NHS-related debt. Cut to a year after Coronavirus is under control and then we'll see if they're so earnest and committed to supporting the NHS

Sunday

04/12/2020

The ferns at the office don't do well in this heat, so I combined my morning cycle with a plant-watering expedition

I hate going out

04/11/2020

We got ants in the house and it was going to take a week for Amazon to deliver Nippon. Fortunately, our local hardware place stocks it.

Slowing down

04/11/2020

When you pay off your home loan, as in life, you get the chance to enjoy a new pace of living, but the lack of structure can be demotivating.

A sure thing

04/10/2020

Sometimes a studio or publisher will luck into a game so perfect that they have to systematically destroy it in order to prove just how brilliant it is.

Nothing moves me to the edge of I'm definitely going to go out and say something quite like my obviously-Tory-voting neighbours standing outside together in a pandemic, clapping and ringing hand-bells for the NHS. How about vote for it instead, dill-weeds.

Wednesday

I've been in a dreadful mood all day. Everything has irritated me in some way. I hate days like this.

Isolation: The Mug Challenge

04/07/2020

I picked up playing badminton again early last year, and I've been massively enjoying it

Seed casing timelapse

04/07/2020

Charlotte's growing some seeds in our bedroom window, and one of her courgettes got a seed casing stuck on its leaves. I was hoping it would make a cool timelapse and I was not disappointed.

Fixing things you don't understand

04/06/2020

I don't really get how any of this works. So far I've just been doing things and they've been working OK most of the time

I've been reading Aquila to Tabitha as a bedtime story the last week or so. I loved the TV show as a kid; had no idea it was a book. I've enjoyed it a lot, and now I need to find DVDs of Aquila, The Queen's Nose, Bernard's Watch, and Woof. There were so many great shows when I was a kid.

Cribs!

04/05/2020

What's up MTV? Welcome to my crib.

Saturday

04/04/2020

Today I feel for anyone who doesn't have a garden. I can't imagine self-isolating without any safe outside space.

Pencil case: complete!

04/04/2020

With this order from The Journal Shop, I think I'm done acquiring stationery. These scissors are insane.

I get a really weird validation from Jimmy Eat World's Tiny Desk Concert. My face goes super red like Robin Vining's, whenever I even mildly exert myself, and seeing someone on camera have the same thing makes me feel weirdly comfortable. Also their music has a beautiful simplicity, but it's mostly the red-face thing.

Home "schooling"

04/01/2020

Charlotte's been doing a brilliant job of giving Tabitha educational stuff to do
